Trapping workshop Geraldine
It was a great weekend to kick off Conservation Week. First was the trapping workshop in Geraldine on Saturday 31 October. Okay, strictly speaking, it wasn’t the start of Conservation Week, but it was nevertheless a great turnout, with 16 people attending.
Then on Sunday 01 November, the weather stayed perfect for a great family day out at Mt Thomas. Dozens of families arrived, with plenty of curious hands and wide-eyed wonder as Geoff Swailes and Nick Ledgard explained the damage that predators are doing to our braided river birds. The damage caused by the not-so-cute or cuddly hedgehog was a real eye-opener for most people.
